The Boston Society (R) is an internationally-recognized NON-PROFIT organization 501(c)3.

About Us

The Boston Society Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2004 as a forum to facilitate education, training, discussion, and scientific activities in support of drug discovery, development and allied topics. We were originally founded as ‘Society for Advanced Therapeutics Inc. and did business as ‘BSAT’. In December 2008 we formally changed our name to ‘The Boston Society Inc.’

We were founded in response to a growing need for an alternative forum for the discussion of applied pharmaceutical research. In the eyes of the founders, major society meetings were often largely academic in focus, while for-profit meetings occasionally lacked strong scientific content and were extremely expensive. In response to this need, the founding members of the Boston Society created a society to organize meetings that are industrially focused, while maintaining non-profit status, relevant venue, and correspondingly low rates.

Membership in the Boston Society includes scientists involved in every area of research and development from academic, industrial, and governmental laboratories. Their interests include advancement of techniques and instrumentation, synthesis, and the full spectrum of activities necessary to discover and develop novel entities and technologies.
